Course Overview

While this training addresses the critical skills set required, it does not result in the issuance of a "ticket,” which is beyond our jurisdiction. Individuals who want to begin training are required to register with the ministry as a modular trainee and secure the sign-off experience endorsement by a recognized source. (Licensed plumber or municipal designated authority etc). A Water Meter Installer may install, service, maintain and repair residential water meters that must not exceed 25mm (one inch) in diameter. For more information on the governing branch and what requirements are to be fulfilled, please contact our office. Mandated subject matter to be covered includes:

  • Meters and Components - 2 hours
  • Safe Work Practices - 5 hours
  • Water Quality and Safety - 3 hours
  • Customer Service Skills - 4 hours
  • Math Skills -  2 hours
  • Confined Space - 4 hours
  • Soldering, Threading and Compression Fittings - 6 hours 
  • Testing at Completion - 2 hours
